The associate must meet all of the following criteria:

- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident of the United States ;
- Must be employed with any division of Walmart for at least six consecutive months prior to the application due date for the award period in which the associate is applying (see chart below)
- Must have earned a high school diploma or GED before applying
- Must have financial need and be able to demonstrate the need with required documents

Scholarship Description

The Walmart Associate Scholarship is a college scholarship is available to Walmart and Sam’s Club associates who are based in the U.S. Awards are based on demonstrated financial need and community involvement.

The Foundation’s Walmart Associate Scholarship is available for associates pursuing certificates, associate, bachelor, and graduate degrees through accredited institutions of higher education and for associates participating in the Lifelong Learning Program through American Public University.The maximum scholarship award has been expanded to $16,000 over a period of six years or until the degree that the scholarship was awarded for has been attained, whichever occurs first. In addition, the process for which you renew your scholarship will be changing to make it more flexible for you. Beginning August 2011 you will be able to complete your online renewal form when it works with your institution’s schedule.
