Eligibility:
A strong Bachelors or Masters degree in either disciple in mandatory. The student should be able to understand and produce formal models of interactions and cognitive models of human behaviour. The ability to design and build effective intefaces and evaluate these by controlled user studies is central to the post.

The School of Informatics leads on education and research for the information and computing professions around the world. The student will laise with researchers at the partner universities, and investigate the appropriate design of interactive medical devices, such as infusion pumps, to support human relisience to actuve interruption and intrusive environmental factors. The student should build upon the theoretical and empircal work of the psychologists and computer scientists on the project, and design, build and evaluate interfaces that provide effective support for a user’s attention.
