Fellowship Description: The object of the post, which is funded by the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences, is to manage a Digitisation project entitled Death and Funerary Practices, 1829-1901.
The successful candidate will manage a working relationship between the Department of History and Eneclann Ltd. This inter-agency initiative will produce a searchable online database for scholarly and genealogical research for use by those seeking their family history, and for historians in Ireland and abroad. The Post-doctoral research associate will work with the Principal Investigator, Dr Ciara Breathnach, to produce peer-reviewed publications on mortality and funerary culture in nineteenth-century Ireland.

Essential

PhD in Historical Sciences; qualification in Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
Applicants will be experienced in GIS, digitisation techniques, and have a peer-reviewed publication record particularly in the history of nineteenth-century Ireland and in the history of religions. The successful candidate will be capable of working within a team environment and be self motivated
